My leaf necklace
We know about my Etsy love. I decided late last night that I’d feature the site every week, probably on Friday.

This week? Nature necklaces. I bought this fantastic leaf necklace at a garage sale the other weekend, but it’s not real. It’s the kind of necklace that you can dress up or down and will stay timeless. Check these out.

KathrynRiechert has a necklace that is very much like mine. It’s simple, but in silver.

I like brass too. tinyairplanes has a whole bunch of cool brass leaf necklace. And until the 31st, a portion of sales go to The Working Fund, a fund for artists with AIDS and HIV

wedeamincolour has a fantastic necklace for those of you who are fans of the greek movement in fashion. The Athena necklace has little tiny leaves that will climb down your neck.

Fruit is a great fun thing to put in jewelry. You see it all the time, but it’s usually cherries and strawberries. What about apples? cheepcheep’s got some.

And there’s more fruit! CourtneyRS has pears!

Stick it to ‘em, Johnny

Apparently, I’m on a make-your-own-bags kick. Whipup has a simple, easy tutorial to make a cute bag out of last year’s ugly sweater.

Goo goo ga ga?

People around here are spitting out babies like there’s no tomorrow. As a result I’ve done a lot of baby shopping lately.

If you are too, check out Duc Duc, a nifty cool baby company. I’ll tell you this now, it’s not cheap, but it looks like it’s worth the money.

A message from management
24. May 2006

Hey, everyone.

I started this web site with no knowledge of Wordpress or running a site. I’m going to try to keep it ad-free for a little bit, until the word gets out.

So while Allthatanda is still in “beta edition,” I’d appreciate all the comments you can give me and all the props and word of mouth that I can get.

If you think the categories are weird or I spelled something wrong or a picture isn’t showing up, let me know. Any input you can give me (seeing as we’re all friends and friends of friends here) would be appreciated.

summer vacation
24. May 2006

I think the world rejoiced when web-based travel sites came out. Orbitz, Travelocity and such changed our lives. I can’t even remember what it was like before them.

It’s a pain though, to find the best deal. Well, Kayak makes it easy. It searches multiple web sites for you. I’ve used it several times and saved who-knows-how-much cash.

Check out this review, which calls it the best travel search engine out there.

Who says you can’t be blingin’ at a wedding

Ravinstyle secretsofcharmanniedress.jpg

So, I’ve got about umpteen weddings to go to this summer. It’s the beginning of that part of my life, the wedding part of my life. Not my wedding, but others. My roommates best friend’s cousins wedding. My coworkers sister’s wedding. That kind of thing. It figure, one dress. One dress I wear over and over, but with new jewelry or shawls.

I like this one, from the style watching people at Ravinstyle.

Big bags

Treasure bath bag.jpg

I like big bags, especially, nifty bags that don’t cost a lot of money. Like this one from Treasure Bath.

This Sheila D reversible bag is also cute, and useful for everything from work to play.

My to-do list
23. May 2006

I’m an aspiring crafter. That means I’m not so good at it, but I try. That’s what counts, right? These are on my to-craft list.

Laptop bag that matches this $80-100 felt bag.

A scrabble message board with my some-of-the-letters-are-missing-but-it’s-more-fun Scrabble game.

Cat toys that profess my love for sushi.

Easy wall art with all those jewel cases I have laying around

Organize my closet finally. (OK, that’s not a craft, but it sure is one heck of a task)

Paint chip wall art using the beginning steps of this paint chip wallet.

Man, I got a lot of work to do. I also have two canvases that remain unpainted because i have no inspiration and am a horrid artist.
