This “furniture module” ($149) from re:modern can be stacked and used as a shelf, or used alone as a bench or coffee table. I adore multipurpose stuff.

Anyone out there a wino?

If so, you can join Carlo Rossi in building wine jug furniture. I’m fond of the chandelier, which takes 33 jugs, or the TV stand, which takes a mere three jugs. The site comes complete with build specs and video

So, OK, I do’nt have kids, but I’ve got lots of friends who seem to be having them. And I’ve got two adorable nephews, who love to splash in the tub. Target has this fun shower organizer for kid stuff ($25). Who says you shower has to look crowded if you have kids?

Check out Peek Keep, a store specializing in scandanavian design, from necklaces, to tote bags to cute candleholders. I adore these bowls for $35. It’s something to covet.

A temporary break
17. July 2006

So.

I was like, “wooooo, finally, I think I can start posting again.” And then. My silly little macbook has dirty palmrests. So I must send it in, and I’ll be unable to blog for a couple of weeks. After that, I swear it’ll be back up to normal.

I’ve been looking into the Oil Cleansing Method. Is anyone out there doing this? I’ve got some Trader Joe’s Olive oil at home just waiting to be tested.

Until then however, I found this nifty recipe for home-made biore pore strips. Much cheaper.

oh…so….sleepy….

bed.jpg
So, today my job was to go forth and find furniture. The good hting is I dont have to buy much (thanks to a sister who is a packrat and is giving me more than I could ask for), but I still have to get the following things: a bed, a couch and a TV.

I told myself i could splurge on the above items, becuase I do have my second job and it pays better and I just convinced myself to get a roommate. So, I went out the local stores for a looksee. Sadly, I came back a little sad, but then I saw this awesome low platform bed from West Elm. Plus, the full size version is less than $600, 1K less than the ones I had been looking at today.

I’m still short a couch, and I’m debating the merits of getting a “nice” TV. For now, I think I’ll save my money and get this nifty $30 mirror (courtesy of decor8) from Target.

Apologies
06. July 2006

I should have written this pre-hiatus, but I’ve moved cross-country for a new gig and am settling in. I’ll try and keep allthatanda updated, but bear with me as I’ve got an apartment that’s dead empty, a crotchety cat and a new job to deal with.

The good thing is, you’ll be seeing lots of stuff for the home as I go shopping for new “adult” furniture. I’ll take tips if you got any for the poor twentysomething modern furniture lover.
