Ah, the color of mustard. The color of the sun. Happiness. Yellow. I’m of the suspicion that yellow is the color of spring. Check these out:

My new yellow wedges from Target ($23). They smash my toes a bit, but I love them.

I spend a lot of time reading books. Lately it’s been Harry Potter audiobooks (I’m on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Book 3)). But lately, for real books, I’ve been using Bookmooch, which is a trading site for books. This is what you do.

You list all the books you don’t want. You get points for listing them, and for giving them away. You ship them. I ship them media mail, because it’s super cheap. And then you use those points to get new books. I’ve found all sorts of books: novels, memoirs, cookbooks, professional books. It’s easy.

Mooch away.

1-29 work.jpg

Contrary to my procrastination-leaning posts, i do like work. I enjoy work-related things. My favorite store for such things is See Jane Work, which came out with some new stuff lately. I spend enough time organizing my work space, so I might as well be organizing pretty things, like a changing mat that blends in with your work stuff ($20), fun cubicle notes ($3.25), a magnetic birdie ($15) and a pretty roll to store your stamps in ($28).

So, my problem with ordering online shoe stores was usually one of a few things:

a) Shoe “sales” are somewhere near 12% off. That’s not a sale.

b) Bad return policies. Or no return policy. What if i get the wrong size?

c) shipping. I’m impatient.

Today, the Budget Fashionista showed me a new store, endless.com, which I guess is from the Amazon.com people. It’s got real sales, and all sorts of shoes. You can shop by size, brand, color or type of shoe. I like it. Yes.

Blasted sheets!
24. January 2007

Long time ago, I gave up on sheets. I stopped using flat sheets, which don’t really seem to serve a purpose. So I use fitted sheets, a blanket and a down comforter. It’s quite cozy in my bed, but I can never fold up the fitted sheets.

Hurrah! Here comes instructions!
