The Budget Fashionista answers a good question: where can you find white tees that are’nt completely see-through? I’ve seen it often enough. I used to have this perfect white tee from H&M, which was not see through and was just the right amount of stretch and softness. It got lost in the move across the country, and I’m not a ways from an H&M.

My answer at the time was Old Navy’s Perfect Tee (see above). But be forwarned, some of them are made out of that thin, only-for-layering cotton. If I had been near one, I would have gotten one from American Apparel, my usualy go-to source for tees.

Where do you buy your plain tees?

This is just over that line of cheesy and magnificent for me. A snail puzzle box with a super secret hiding spot for your goodies. ($14 at doe)

Cereal to go
30. April 2007

4-29 cereal to go.jpg

This is for my friend Charlee, who doesn’t like milk sitting, has milk-poachers at the office and loves cereal.

It’s cereal to go. But not soggy cereal. You’re not putting milk and cereal in the same bowl to get warm as you sit on the train. This cereal holder has gel that keeps the milk cold, and a separate chamber for the cereal. In the lid, a little spoon! ($9, from Brylane Home)

Unica Lamp

Maybe, it’s just me, but I think this lamp looks more like an artichoke than a Lily bud. What do you think? Lamp from Unica Lighting, $616 for table lamp.

A request
27. April 2007

I’m not one to ask for much from my friends, but I’m going to ask for a little help here. Now that AT&A has been around a year, I want to work on getting the name out there, since I’ve not established myself and garnered some (very beloved!) loyal readers.

I’m asking you to get the word out and tell a few friends about my site. On my end, I’ll promise you that I’ll work on getting some deals and even more great stuff. I’ll work hard, I swear.

Deal?

Etsy: One cool batik

I adore this batik print from margotbianca. I’ve fallen in love with artia towel or table runner, but I like the idea of using it as a tenugui or framing it. ($15)

Taking stock
27. April 2007

Well, Decorazzi has officially been up and running for a month now. Hopefully, we have a few readers here now who will allow me to pick their brains and respond to a challenge.

When we began Decorazzi, we wanted to have a site where home deisng lovers could meet and talk about everything that is home: from curtains to recipe boxes to stovetops to art. I’ve tried ot include details about anything home-related, but I wanted to see if we’ve been on base with readers. Is there something more you’d like to see? Something you’d like to see less of? Ideas on how to improve?

Let us know. E-mail me at kim (at) decorazzi (dot) com

And, as we get bigger, we need readers to help us along. Readers and community members are the baseline of any site. So a small challenge. Tell five friends about us. Pass the site along and help us get better.

As always, thanks for reading!

Terraus: industrial, green and pretty flooring
26. April 2007

425terraus.jpg

When I was at an Earth Day event this weekend, I stopped by bamboo clothing booths and signed up for a class on simple living. I also took a peek at electric cars and spent some time talking to the Terraus booth.

Terraus was originally a industrial flooring and is still used as that today, but it’s gaining momentum as a home flooring use as more and more consumers turn to green. It’s made out of epoxy and doesn’t release any bad stuff while its being manufactured. The little chips you see in the numerous colors and styles of flooring are paint chips, but don’t worry, they’re VOC-free.

It takes a couple to a few days to install and will even stand up agaisnt sulfuric acid. The best part to me? If you hate it and want to go get some bamboo floors, it’s totally recyclable.

Learn more at the Terraus site.
