I’ve been on the hunt for some nude pumps. They’re so classic and cute with a Little Black Dress, of which I have about seven. So which one should I get?

I really do like the second ones better, but I’m not so sure about the silver heel. What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

I’m usually not so lazy as to just go to etsy’s site and use the featured seller for my etsy find of the week, but this week I went to the site and said ‘Wow.” Yellena, the featured seller, has some gorgeous art. I mean gorgeous. It’s great. You need it. Her prints come in limited editions too, so hurry. ($10)

They grow up far too fast for you not to remember how cute their little feet once were. The foam in this great gift allow new parents to remember how little their little one is. ($35)

recycled quilts from crispina fuchsia

I love quilts. It’s pretty silly, since I actually sleep under a down comforter, but I like quilts all the same. Crispina Fuchsia makes quilts out of recycled materials. I love them, especially the orbit collection, which uses American Apparel scraps. ($340 for a throw)

The Pottery Barn is usually a bit too traditional for me, but I really like some of the new dual-purpose things they have out there right now. The Leah Desk is a favorite. It’s a vanity or a desk, depending on how you use it and you can close everything away with the flip on a compartment. ($369)

Shoe for fall: high-heeled oxfords
30. July 2007

I’ve been plunking around my fashion message board when I kept reading about the shoe for fall, the high-heeled oxford. Or even just high-heel lace-up shoes. Like the shoes in the Chloe picture below.

I like the look a lot, but still pondering the shoes. I think I want to get a pair. They look so….fall-like. My favorite contenders so far are the shoes pictured below from Bakers. ($80)

new obsession: mate lattes
30. July 2007

7-18-mate.jpg

The Boy will clunk me over the head for this, but for the past few days I’ve been working on this blog, I’ve been enjoying a mate latte.

It’s not that I haven’t had yerba mate before.  The Boy brings back gross amount from Peru when he’s there and drinks in instead of coffee. But he makes it like coffee, strong and dark. When he had me try it, I poured pounds of honey in there, but nothing would help. I told him it was gross and went back to my coffee.

I’ve been converted. Out here people drink this stuff like candy. There’s even a company that started in this city. Guayaki. It’s pretty tasty. There’s different varieties. My friend Tonya like the chocolate mate version. I like mine in a latte with a tiny bit of honey.

You can find yerba mte in most health food stores.

Or you can go to Guayaki’s site.

This piece of art by John Derian (I can’t imagine it anywhere but in a kitchen) is made by decoupage, which is pretty cool stuff. ($81)

My roommate has a pendant like this, except it’s a woman golfer. I love how big and what a statement this necklace makes. Perfect with a simple dress. ($15)
