guest post: top 5 tips for petite fashionistas
31. January 2008

(This is a guest post from Christa of the go-to blog for shorter girls, Petite Fashionista)

top-5-tips.jpg

1. Add a little volume to your hair (at the crown) it will add one to two inches to your look.

2. Add accessories near your face, such as necklaces or earrings to attract attentions upwards to your face and to make you appear taller.

3. A gold or nude shoe/sandal is close to your natural skin color, so it will make your legs appear longer.

4. When selecting a larger print use your fist as a reference to how big the print should be. Look for 60’s inspired flowers this season.

5. If you don’t own a wrap dress, go buy one! The wrap dress is a petites best friend, it doesn’t matter if you’re full figured, busty or flat chested - it will accentuate the nest parts of you!

My umbrellas are boring. Every time it rains outside, I see some cute girl with a pretty little umbrella. It really makes a difference. These rain parade umbrellas at Fred Flare are simple, but really snazzy.($30)

cross back dress

twelve by twelve cross back dress

I’m a little suspicious of the shiny fabric on this dress, but I love the back. The back is one of those usually ignored parts of the female body. It’s not slutty to show it off, but it’s definitely sexy. ($49)

Get it at Twelve by Twelve.

knife sharpener

Kiosk knife sharpener

This is what I love about Kiosk. Everytime I go there to peruse whatever great finds they have brought back from faraway countries, I find something that I remember I needed.

Like this French knife sharpener. I might like it more because it is French or because “Affur’cap” means very sexy. It doesn’t mater. ($19)

Get it at Kiosk.

ecoganik market dress

Ecoganik is a great little brand with modern, fun clothing, made mostly of organic cotton. I like this dress because it’s casual and could be worn in a bunch of different ways: over leggings or jeans, on its own or a jacket on top. ($108)
