what i’ve been reading

Here’s what I’ve been reading lately. Click on the images to go and buy from Amazon.

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.

A haunting and ultimately hopeful book about love and regret. It was a little slow to start, but after that the narrative was beautiful.

It’s about loving who you love, despite the consequences, despite what life throws your way. I’m definitely going to pick up more of du Maurier’s novels.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K Dick.

I’ve been reading a lot of fantasy lately, but I thought I’d pick up something sci-fi, too.

This book was the basis for the movie Bladerunner, although it’s not totally a replica of the movie. It’s still a really quick, easy read.

Again, it’s got lots of pieces of hope in it.

Fablehaven by Brandon Mull

I originally read this book for my Young Adult book club, and I had a few hesitations about it.

But like Harry Potter, this series ages with it’s readers. The first book is a bit juvenile for my adult self, but I’m on the third now and it’s definitely grown.

It’s a good series if you’ve been looking for an easy read.
