6-24 terrarium.jpg

Here’s a teeeny tiny terrarium (try saying that three times fast) for you. It’s filled with some pretty lichen and moss and has already been growing for awhile, so you’ll be assured that this little guy will be OK under your care.

I like the small size. It’s prefect for some green happiness at your desk.

(The seller can’t ship to California, Washington, Arizona and Florida, but everyone else should jump at this)

$15

4-30 la fete.jpg

A while ago I got an e-mail from a reader directing me to La Fete. Now that it’s time for outside, it’s the perfect time for me to feature it. La Fete is resort living — outside. The cushions are lightweight and weatherproof.

They’re beautiful, comfortable and perfect for outdoor living spaces.

Find out more at La Fete

good design: strida folding bike

strida bike at fred flare

At just under 20 pounds and foldable, I don’t know why I don’t have this bike. It’s super cute and folds up in six seconds? Yup, need it. They’re imported from the UK straight to Fred Flare and there’s a whole bunch of bells and whistles too.

It’s a great idea for those that bike to work in urban cities, or anyone that is short on storage space. ($799)

Get it at Fred Flare.

This small vase is perfect for the tiny blooms that don’t quite fit into a normal vase and end up in cups or something. It makes the flowers look like they’re floating along. ($12)

Buy it.

This vase is made from reclaimed California wine bottles. Chardonnay, even. They come in clear or frosted and have the elegance of a wine bottle, with a lot more function. ($25)

Buy it.

All this plant needs is love (and water)

Oh, I know. You can probably buy this plant at Home Depot, but this plant doesn’t need a new pot or anything else. It just needs love. It’s healthy, not half dying. And for $25, what could be easier and better? Thanks, Bloomscape.

Lazy days and hammocks

510hammock.jpg

When I was a kid, I really, really wanted a hammock. Down by the creek, where I used to play, there was someone’s garden and they had this huge big hammock. We’d sneak in and see if they were home and spend some hours in the hammock. I loved it. Now, you can get you own hammock at Fred Flare for $18.
