coloring: scribbles
28. August 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

When I was a kid, I colored outside the lines, literally. My brother was a dark-lines-light-inside coloring person. My sister pressed hard, so her crayons ran out quickly.

Scribbles is made by the dude who wrote Everybody Poops and it’s a great little coloring book for kids and adults. It’s got things to color (of course) and other ideas, like an empty landscape you’re supposed to fill with a scene or item of some sort.

It’s perfect for relaxing, or spending time with those wiggly little ones you call your children.

pets: treats from the bakery
10. April 2008

treats for the pup

I have an admitted bias toward cat toys, treats and ephemera. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love dogs. I love with a particularly sweet dog named Sophie. Gourmet dog treats may seem silly to some people, but if you own a pet you can understand. My cat is like my child and it makes me happy to see her cheerfully gobble down a treat.  So why not order some cranberry and cheese dog biscuits from a former chef?

$6.75 for 5 oz. Baked to order.

Get it at Kitten Korner Cafe.

blik just released a new line of kid’s restik wall decals. I love how they’re not pastel icky kids decals like I’ve seen before. These are whimsical, like illustrations. Plus, you can move them around as your child gets older or just remove them. ($38)

quick idea: let the cats scratch up the rug
12. November 2007

Instead of a scratching post, I have a sisal rug on the floor of my office. Most scratching posts are covered in sisal, anyway, so it’s like a giant scratching mat for them.

My friend Tiff’s friend Tiff (hah!) makes these cute little guys. They remind me of the stuffed diseases you see around. However, Kahzunee isn’t a disease, he’s just a little surfer. I will take him to the beach and he will teach me how to surf. Deal, Kahzunee? ($5)
