This year has been pretty crazy for me, with ups and downs a plenty.

I’m not one to turn to self-help books, but I do read a lot of books to better myself. I usually get about halfway through them before I get bored.

This book is based off of A Course in Miracles an interesting book that honestly looks a little religious for me. The author, Gabrielle Bernstein, leads you through different part of your life — from family to career to relationships — with three different steps in mind. I’m not telling you the steps, because you know, that ruins the book.

There are meditations that you can download and suggested activities for you to do.

I really liked the tone Gabrielle takes through the whole book, she’s never preachy or too self-helpy. A lot of the thinking behind the book is simple and we all probably know it, but don’t actually practice it day-to-day. Gabrielle makes it easy to do that.

The only thing about Add More ~ing to Your Life that I didn’t like is the structure. I wish instead of looking at it from parts of your life, that different behaviors would be a little less repetitive.

Regardless, if you need to take a long hard look at your life and what is holding you back, pick this book up.
