I know Halloween is over, but this makes me miss real candy stores with things in jars and all sorts of flavors. It would look really cute in a kitchen or kid’s room.

I was cruising Supermarket when I found Swallowfield. I love the idea of prints right on top of text.

They remind me a little bit of all the doodling I used to do on my notebooks in school. Mine were not near as cool.

I’m really into the silhouette/paper cut thing lately. I like this one a lot. Reminds me of shadow plays when I was a kid.

I love the kitsch factor of this painting of some especially fluffy owls.

They’re so cute and the look almost surprised that makes me giggle a little.

You can get these little suckers over at Kanibal Home, where they pick up the best salvaged and vintage items.

great art project: Human Variation

I’d post pictures of this site, but they’re not really work safe.

THe Human Variation project is a great idea. It’s an art blog dedicated to showing how beautiful the simple human form is.

Every contributor sends in a photo of them. Naked, or near-naked, with whatever stats they want to include about themselves. They’re real bodies. These are people who are your plain Janes and Joes of the world.

I think it’s a gorgeous project and hopefully by looking through the blog you’ll realize that skinny people are not perfect…in fact, no one looks like the airbrushed versions of humans that the media puts out.

Here’s a bit of the site’s mission:

First, it is our intention that our contributors simply feel good about themselves. We sincerely desire for people of all ages, shapes, sizes, genders, and races to feel as though they are worthy of pride in their appearance. Second, we wish that those who observe the contributions, particularly those whose views of human beauty have been rooted in the expectations of society, can be educated by and take pleasure in challenging the prevailing notions of whose bodies should be celebrated.

If you believe that this is a worthwhile mission to undertake, please consider contributing. It’s easy and anonymous, and you just might change something for the better in yourself or someone else.
