hydracoach water bottle

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

See this little bottle? It may be just be your savior, if you’re a water hater like me. Good water is great, but most of the time water is boring for me. But I make myself drink it, because it’s supposedly good for me or something.

The Hydracoach tells you exactly how much water you’ve had today, so you can meet whatever water goal you’re aiming at.

Something to remember is that you don’t need to drink a ton of water, since we get most of it from food and other drinks (maybe minus pop), but I assume all the extra might not hurt. ($29)

hot chocolate maker

mmmmmm hot chocolate

It’s cold now, and all the restaurants have hot chocolate and egg nog lattes for sale.

But it’s nicer to make hot chocolate at home though. Then it’s good and strong and you can add some kick if you’d like. Or make it with real chocolate and this very cute and helpful Bodum hot chocolate maker at Peek Keep. ($30)

Get it.

new obsession: mate lattes

7-18-mate.jpg

The Boy will clunk me over the head for this, but for the past few days I’ve been working on this blog, I’ve been enjoying a mate latte.

It’s not that I haven’t had yerba mate before.  The Boy brings back gross amount from Peru when he’s there and drinks in instead of coffee. But he makes it like coffee, strong and dark. When he had me try it, I poured pounds of honey in there, but nothing would help. I told him it was gross and went back to my coffee.

I’ve been converted. Out here people drink this stuff like candy. There’s even a company that started in this city. Guayaki. It’s pretty tasty. There’s different varieties. My friend Tonya like the chocolate mate version. I like mine in a latte with a tiny bit of honey.

You can find yerba mte in most health food stores.

Or you can go to Guayaki’s site.

do men need this?

To the two guys that read my blog: would you buy this silver-plated coozie? You could engrave it and place all your beer to be chilled there. Most dudes I know don’t drink slow enough for this product.

Get it.

beer rings

7-1-beer.jpg

I threw a party a week or two ago for my roommate. Needless to say, there was lots of beer and lots of lost beer hunting. I should have had these cool beer rings, so everyone knows what they were drinking. ($7)

Buy it.

Father’s Day: A beer opener…ring.

6-2 ring opener.jpg

One of my former bosses’ had this ring and I cracked up when I saw it, but then realized the utility of it. How many times have you been caught without a bottle opener? Well, never fear, get one of these and you’ll never be without. You don’t have to wear the opener on top, my boss kept it toward his palm. ($8)

Buy it.

Why is this so good?

I’ve become addicted to Good Earth Original Tea. It’s sweet, spicy, strong and fantastic. Funny, I never knew of it before I moved here, but it’s soo good.

I like martinis.

and vodka is a main ingredient. yum yum.

Readymade teaches me how to make lemon-infused vodka. Check out this article on how to make other infused vodkas. What’s a party without martinis?
