irana douer teacup

Makool Loves You, a good friend of AT&A, has decided to branch out into the ceramic world. They are the exclusive supplier of these gorgeous one of a kind cups by Irana Douer, an artist from Buenos Aires. I love her simple drawings and how sweet and whimsical they look. Each one is signed by her too.

It’s almost too nice to drink out of.

Cup is 3″ tall, and 2.5″ across at the top, not including the handle. It’s dishwasher and food safe. ($48)

urban outfitters ceramic plastic cup
14. November 2007

There is a deal with the ceramic cups that look like their cheap plastic brethren. I think it’s pretty cute. Take this example from Urban Outfitters. It looks like those cups you use for dorm keggers, eh? Ah, fond memories for only $8.

engraved mug

7-1-mug.jpg

Just to make sure that a) your day is commemorated and b) no one runs off with your favorite beer mug, I’d get this platinum-rimmed engravable beer mug. In a way, it’s very cool, but then it makes me chuckle in it’s ridiculousness. ($16)

Buy it.

Moo! These cow glasses make me chuckle and I don’t even drink milk. They’re made from reclaimed glass and you can get a plain glass frosted with cow spots or a frosted glass with clear cow spots on it. Even the frosting is eco-friendly ($34 for four)

Buy it.

Father’s Day: A NY-style mug

New Yorker readers can tell me I’m right. Aren’t these the little mugs you get everywhere? They’re great and now, they’re ceramic and can by in your Dad’s coffee-lovin’ hands. ($10)

Etsy: a mug to rule them all

Dishwasher and microwave-safe, this mug is a cheery way to begin your day. Shoshona Snow makes this mug by throwing it on the potter’s wheel and painting it black, the removing little pieces of the porcelain to reveal the unpainted portion of the mug. Most of her pieces seem to use this style, which is modern and bright to me. ($20)

The best travel mug ever

5-20-travel-mug.jpg

I’m not kidding. I love this mug. I bought t on a search months ago after my last mug got cracked. The only one I had hiding in the cupboard was a leaky cheap-o one from Target years ago. I wanted to get a Nissan mug (not the car company, at least to my knowledge), but I couldn’t find one anywhere near here. So I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and say this. When I got it, it was called Click and Seal, but OXO’s web site calls it the LiquiSeal Travel Mug.

Put some coffee or tea in here, click it closed and shake all you want. I throw mine in my work bag and it’s never leaked. Ever. Get it. ($20)

Arcadia glassware

515glassware.jpg

My parents have this ridiculous glassware set. It’s red with gold on it. When I was younger, I thought it was hideous. Now, I think it had this luxe vintage appeal in a very….over-the-top kind of way. You can get some that are just like my parents over at environment337. A set of four is $50 or $60, depending on the pattern.

Also, spend some time in their store. The store is fantastically set up. You get to go through rooms, and pick out te items you like.

A glass of text.

Maybe it’s the writer in me, but I love the way text looks. It’s so starkly beautiful. For that reason, I really like these glasses over at weego home. ($45)
