Wow. I like the feel that this is a gigantic night light on crack.

Pretty, though.

outdoor: la fete

4-30 la fete.jpg

A while ago I got an e-mail from a reader directing me to La Fete. Now that it’s time for outside, it’s the perfect time for me to feature it. La Fete is resort living — outside. The cushions are lightweight and weatherproof.

They’re beautiful, comfortable and perfect for outdoor living spaces.

Find out more at La Fete

green culture: a new green shopping option
07. January 2008

Green Culture site

I’m constantly surprised by the number of sites out lately that make green shopping easier. Search engines and what not. GreenCulture is a pretty good representative of these sites. It’s got a lot of furniture ranging styles, so not only the ultra-modern folks are satisfied, but everyone.

Take a look.

(Thanks, Ara!)

I like Fatboys. They’re like grown-up beanbags, but better.

Thing is, I think they’re filled with latex, which is nice. But there’s better. I found Waste’s Poufs on NotCot and was excited. Seriously, if I needed a couch (I don’t), I’d totally get this. It’s about 215 Euros. I forget what that is in dollars, seeing as the dollar is only doing worse these days, but it’s not that bad considering the Poufs use recycles car materials.

I need more apartments
17. January 2007

because this one is running out of space for home decor.

Anyway, my e-mail held a little surprise this morning, a preview of the new CB2 catalog. I *heart* CB2, because it looks good and is affordable.

Some picks:

1-17 vase.jpeg

I have a little collection of orange vases. Antique ones, new ones, anything that is glass and orange ends up on a little shelf on the stairwell. I like this one. ($13)

1-17 chair.jpeg

My brother just moved into a new place, and he’s been whining about finding a cool chair, for under $800. This one is $500. Hah. I win.

1-17 pillow.jpeg

Another thing I have too many of: throw pillows. Thank goodness we have two couches. These are pretty, for $25.

This “furniture module” ($149) from re:modern can be stacked and used as a shelf, or used alone as a bench or coffee table. I adore multipurpose stuff.

oh…so….sleepy….

bed.jpg
So, today my job was to go forth and find furniture. The good hting is I dont have to buy much (thanks to a sister who is a packrat and is giving me more than I could ask for), but I still have to get the following things: a bed, a couch and a TV.

I told myself i could splurge on the above items, becuase I do have my second job and it pays better and I just convinced myself to get a roommate. So, I went out the local stores for a looksee. Sadly, I came back a little sad, but then I saw this awesome low platform bed from West Elm. Plus, the full size version is less than $600, 1K less than the ones I had been looking at today.

I’m still short a couch, and I’m debating the merits of getting a “nice” TV. For now, I think I’ll save my money and get this nifty $30 mirror (courtesy of decor8) from Target.

Goo goo ga ga?
25. May 2006

People around here are spitting out babies like there’s no tomorrow. As a result I’ve done a lot of baby shopping lately.

If you are too, check out Duc Duc, a nifty cool baby company. I’ll tell you this now, it’s not cheap, but it looks like it’s worth the money.
