news: gilt does men
07. April 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Gilt Gilt, one of the online sample sale sites I’m a fan of, is now doing men’s sales and they’re starting with one of my favorites: John Varvatos.

My brother will be so excited. He’s been lusting after some Varvatos stuff for months.

What? You are not a member of Gilt? Well, send me an e-mail at (admin at allthatanda[dot] com) and I’ll hook you up.

hussein chalayan capsule collection for yoox

Chalayan jacket

Introducing Hussein Chalayan Spring-Summer 2008 Menswear Collection Exclusively for YOOX, a pretty nice little capsule collection for the dudes out there. And there are plenty. My brother complains almost daily how hard it is to shop for new and different men’s clothing.

I found it to be pretty simple and charming, with my favorite item to be this jacket with an offset pocket. I’m a sucker for a nice jacket.

Go check it out. Collections like these generally fly off the (virtual) shelves.

laptop bags: carga for him
29. November 2007

carga felt bag

It’s time to bring back one of my favorite obsessions: laptop bags.

I was at a meeting a while ago and I spotted a young architect carrying this bag. It blew me away. It was simple, industrial, yet really elegant and nice. I wanted it. I finally tracked it down to Carga, which makes a bunch of other industrial felt bags. ($245)

for the dudes: travel roll-up
18. September 2007

9-17-rollup.jpg

I’ve been badly neglecting the male population of my readership (are there any of you left?) lately. But I found you something cool.

Instead of tossing random bottles of shampoo or whatever into a TSA regulation size plastic bag, you should get this awesome travel roll-up thingie from John Allan’s. It’s even got 2 oz samples of a bunch of John Allan stuff. It looks really nice too, in all leather. How manly is that? Definitely worth the hefty price tag. ($245)

Get it.

do men need this?

7-1-coozie.jpg

To the two guys that read my blog: would you buy this silver-plated coozie? You could engrave it and place all your beer to be chilled there. Most dudes I know don’t drink slow enough for this product.

6-24-tie.jpg

Night Lab is the men’s counterpart to the super-cool day lab. Poking around, I saw these silk octopus ties by Jes Switaj. They come in a bunch of colors and make your boring office tie a little more fun. ($25)

Vintage western shirt

The Boy has a love for vintage and vintage-looking western shirts. He also looks super-hot in them, so I encourage the habit. Red Pony Enterprises has both mens and womens vintage stuff, and it’s all very cute. I really like this one.  ($20)

6-2 hot rod tee.jpg

OK, maybe Dad is a car geek. Hot Rods and the like. Well, then maybe a tee to profess his love of cars is neccesary. This tee is screen-printed by hand is is part of a limited edition by Mutant Angel. (2 for $25)

Father’s Day: A beer opener…ring.
07. June 2007

6-2 ring opener.jpg

One of my former bosses’ had this ring and I cracked up when I saw it, but then realized the utility of it. How many times have you been caught without a bottle opener? Well, never fear, get one of these and you’ll never be without. You don’t have to wear the opener on top, my boss kept it toward his palm. ($8)

Buy it.
