If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

This kid is 5, blind and plays the piano better than I do after years of lessons. Wow.

Have a good weekend! I’m off for conference in Chicago for a week, but I’ve got some posts to run in the meantime. I’ll try to pop in and show you some pics and such.

music: download this jon foreman song
30. May 2008

5-28 jon forman

I don’t post too often about music, but I used to be the arts and entertainment editor of my college paper. So basically, that makes me an expert, right?

Jon Foreman is the frontman for Switchfoot, which I’m actually not that big of a fan of. However, he’s released two EPs on his own, which are much more to my folk-rock-indie leanings.

I’ve even for a mp3 for you to download and listen to. You might recognize the sing, “The Cure for Pain” if you’re a Grey’s Anatomy fan.

Get the song by right clicking and choosing save link as.

I’ve mentioned the sixtyone before. But let me give this site an salute. I love it.

What is it?
The sixtyone is a music site with a social feel. It’s a great way to find new music.

How does it work?
You press play. That is the simple version.

The more complex version is that you’re given points and you can “bump” a song up the playlist with those points if you like it. The more popular the song gets, the more points you get back and the more points you have to “bump” other songs.

I want to go sign up.

Go to the Sixtyone. You can befriend me if you’d like to. I’m angyl.

Sony MDR-EX81LP Bud-Style Stereo Earphones (White)

I have small ears. They don’t like the traditional white earphones from Apple. You know, the ones that come with your iPod. I had some horrible Koss earphones a while ago, that were squishy, but never quite fit in my ear right. So, I’ve always been afraid of the earbuds that might make you go deaf.

I got Sony MDR-EX81LP Bud-Style Stereo Earphones (White)“>these Sonys two weeks ago. Overall, I do like them. They come with three sizes of “buds.” I had to use the smallest ones, but they fit perfectly. However, I got these because I thought the buds might not fit, and the hooks would make me feel more secure.

The hooks? They don’t hook. The posts, as other reviews I’ve read, are just too long. If you would just shorten those posts a tad, Sony, these would be perfect. For my non-audiophile ears, they sound good. Overall, if i could afford $200 Shures, I’d get those, but for $35, these will do fine.
